How can humanity come so far away from its innate wisdom and natural connections?

At what point did humanity make this wrong turn in our evolution?

Those are rhetorical questions as I’m fairly sure of the answer, but I don’t want to overtake this article with politics and doom!

When we look back on humanity, before modern technology even existed, before our brains took over from our hearts and instincts, we may get a small glimpse of how we were created to live, and this life is miles apart from how we live today. Probably the closest we can get to this natural life is observing the lives of the native tribes and Indigenous People. Almost every aspect of life is different, or at least moving in the direction of being different, to how we are meant to be – it’s no wonder that there is so much chronic illness and suffering.

The Role of Inflammation according to the Biological Laws of Nature

The Biological Laws teach us that localised inflammation swelling, which surrounds an area of healing, is an essential part of the healing process, providing protection of the healing cells and the essential fluid environment required for healing to take place. We also learn about the Syndrome, which is when the biological program involving the kidney collecting tubules (KCT) is active with another biological program that is happening at the time. This increases generalised inflammation in the body as well as increased localised inflammation/swelling in areas of healing or conflict activity. This inflammation will increase pain, suffering and any healing symptom we are experiencing, increase weight, and can cause a lot of complications in more intense biological programs. This is why so many mistakenly claim that inflammation causes disease. It is NOT causing disease but effectively amplifying symptoms and indirectly causing chronic illness.

Feeling like a Fish out of Water

The associated conflict affecting the KCT is often termed as a ‘fish out of water’ conflict. It is triggered by isolation, abandonment, fear of existence, being hospitalised or being a refugee. In other words, it is triggered by feeling like you are disconnected from where you belong, from your home. To understand the theme and feeling behind the conflict, think of a fish that is washed up on to shore and left there when the tide goes out. How does that fish feel? Abandoned, isolated, not at home, its existence is threatened, maybe after a while it’ll be disorientated.

The biological program involves extra cells growing to block one or more of the kidney collecting tubules, depending on the severity of the conflict, causing the body to retain water. In nature, mammals will retain water in this way when there is a sudden drought, or when they are away from their watering hole.  The purpose is obvious – to ensure they are able to stay hydrated. But this is only ever meant to be a temporary measure (as with all the biological programs). Chronic conditions set in when they are constantly active or being retriggered.

In evolutionary terms, and in embryonic development (which reflects evolution of life), when we rely upon submersion in water for our survival and experience this conflict, the water retention ensures that the abandoned ‘fish’ does not dry out and will survive until they are submerged in water again. Rather than start a debate into the evolution of humans, I prefer to think of this as a connection to and reflection of the development of life itself. As an aside, we also have pharyngeal ducts, which would in effect be gills if we were fish, so it’s like we have a definite link to water life whether this be through our own evolution or through a standard underlying blueprint of life itself (a little bit like a car dashboard that has blanked panels for extra features, maybe!)

There are likely many ways that most of us can relate to feeling like a fish out of water in our lives, such as being in a job or relationship we are unhappy with,  an area or house we don’t feel at home in, and I certainly have felt this to a degree since ‘waking up’ in the early 2000s when I’ve felt isolated from society due to thinking so differently to the masses.

Our Disconnection to Earth

But taking this a step further and in terms of Earthing, the majority of us are isolated from the Earth, which is our true home. I wholeheartedly believe that we are created with an innate connection to Earth, and I say this with conviction as I feel it. When you think of it, I bet you do too. Have you felt anxiety leave you after walking in the woods and connecting with trees? Have you felt relaxing and recharged after gardening, when you get your hands into the Earth? (Actually gardening is now officially classed as an anti-depressant!) Have you felt calm and relieved after walking barefoot on the beach? Do you feel the difference between bathing in the sea and swimming in the pool when on holiday?

Connecting with the Earth allows a mutual energetic feedback (much like in the movie Avatar) and, in addition to discharging our pent up stagnant energy, this is also how I believe we connect to our higher consciousness and God.

Earthing is sometimes known as Grounding, though I tend to prefer the term Earthing as the term grounding is used more loosely in meditation and healing practices, and therefore doesn’t always fully encapsulate what it actually is and earthing is allowing a full energetic connection to the Earth.

Earthing is proven by various methods including thermography to reduce inflammation in the body, bringing relief to many chronic conditions. Reflecting back on the Biological Laws, and with reference to the KCT program, we can now completely understand and accept how this is possible. Earthing effectively resolves our disconnection to our home and it resolves the innate isolation we feel due to this disconnection.

Additionally, in my own experience and others’, when it is practised regularly, we begin to feel and experience that connection consciously.  That feeling of never being alone, of being supported and connected to all of Nature, of being a part of something bigger than ourselves – how can we ever feel isolated with this feeling?

So how can we Earth ourselves in our everyday busy lives?

Well, ideally we would live on land, sleep on the Earth, walk barefoot and grow all our food (which is even believed to alter its nutrient values depending on the biofeedback we previous whilst naturally gardening!). While this is just not possible for many of us, here are some ideas for Earthing yourself.

Walk Barefoot: Take regular trips to the woods, mountains, beach etc, walk barefoot (I do this even in winter even if for a short time!), touch (or even hug) the trees, gaze at the natural greenery and gaze at the water, if you are at the sea or river. Imagine your connection as energetic roots, imagine that you feel it if you don’t feel anything, and with practice you soon will begin to feel it.

Use Earthing products: Use an Earthing sheet and/or earthing pad. I have been regularly sleeping on an Earthing sheet for a few years now and it has made a profound difference for me. There are many cheap imitations but my research and personal usage has resulted in the following two particular recommendations:

and also Rowland Earthing products

So a few tips on using earthing sheets, from my own experience! I have the medium sized organis cotton sheet from Groundology. In summer I use it as a top sheet and in winter I use it as a bottom sheet. It fits well over the whole surface of our king-size bed, but I use it over only my side and tuck it in. This suits us as Lloyd uses an earthing pillow case and prefers not to have the sheet. Also when we have both used it together, we do not get a good night’s sleep and I think it is because Lloyd spends so much time on his laptop, being a software developer, so I’m thinking that maybe I am picking up some of his energetic discharge, and he needs a gentler method of off-loading his energy? So keeping things separate work well for us!

Salt baths with a natural salt such as Dead Sea Salts, Magnesium Flakes, Sea Salt or Himalayan salt can temporarily release inflammation by mimicking your return to the primordial sea. Of course you can also bathe in the sea! You need to have at least 1kg salt in a bath, be submerged over waist height, and stay for an hour or more until you spontaneously urinate (meaning the KCT have opened up and released some inflammation).

Wear natural fibres: Natural fibres such as cotton, linen and wool and natural soled shoes such as leather. Additionally,  natural fibres can increase our our personal vibration (which can be determined with muscle testing). Just hold your clothes while you muscle test and see which ones weaken or strengthen your energy in the same way as you would test foods or supplements. Linen and wool are said to have a very high vibration, however they are opposite charges so cancel each other out when worn together!

I hope you enjoy your connection to Earth!
