Conflict active phase: paralysis of jaw
Healing phase: inflammation / pain / paralysis before movement returns to normal
Epi Crisis: grinding / bruxism / spasms
November 2019 – My jaw has locked almost shut today and I have hardly been able to eat. TMJ is linked to a bite conflict of “not being able to bite at an opponent’ with jaw paralysis in the conflict active phase. I have just realised what it is. I sold some second hand Levi jeans on Ebay last week and the buyer emailed over the weekend accusing them of being fake. I know they are not as I bought them in an outlet shop. He has been particularly difficult, refusing to use the pre-paid label and sending them back with a more expensive service, returning them to my home address instead of work where I instructed him to, suggesting my feedback is being held to ransom, etc. I have felt unable to express myself and ‘bite back’ at his accusation regarding this as ‘the customer is always right’ and for the fact that he would likely wreck my positive feedback record. I received the jeans back today and have refunded him, hence resolving the conflict. Now this evening after having realised the cause of my jaw, almost instantly my jaw improved and in the time it has taken to type this, it has almost completely freed up!
