In the relentless pursuit of cures and treatments, modern medical science has achieved some remarkable things such as mapping genomes, developing targeted therapies and perfecting surgeries. Yet, beneath this veneer of progress lies a profound oversight: digging deeper into the “how” of disease while turning a blind eye to the “why.”

In this article, I explore this concept through the lens of a paradigm-shifting perspective that is rooted in the Biological Laws of Nature, as discovered by Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer. This states that what we call “disease” is not a malfunction or random error, but a purposeful, adaptive response orchestrated by nature itself to ensure our survival. By ignoring this bigger picture, research often traps us in a cycle of symptom management and fear, overlooking the meaningful biological programs and our body’s remarkable self-healing capability.

The Core Flaw: Chasing ‘How’ While Missing ‘Why’

What scientific studies and research tend to do is delve deeper into the mechanics of their chosen topic, only interested in the ‘how,’ all the while ignoring or missing the crucial point of the bigger picture which gives the ‘why.’ Billions are poured into genomic sequencing, drug trials, and mechanistic models – unraveling how a tumour proliferates or a microbe replicates, for example – yet these efforts treat symptoms as isolated puzzles, disconnected from the emotional, psychological and biological context that caused them.

Consider cancer research: A 2023 study might map protein interactions in ‘tumour’ cells, leading to a new chemotherapy (to poison them as well as the rest of the body) – but this misses Dr Hamer’s revelation:

Tumours form as part of a natural biological program and regress naturally as long as the original shock fully resolves.

By focusing solely on eradication, we interrupt the “why” – the body’s ingenious program to bolster survival against a perceived mortal threat, like loss or betrayal and most importantly, the body’s ability to remove the tumour itself once this perceived threat has passed. This oversight frames diseases as random malfunctions, breeding fear, over-treatment, additional conflicts and iatrogenic harm.

Dr Hamer’s Biological Laws illuminate that these occurrences are not arbitrary but meaningful natural processes providing biological assistance to ensure our protection and survival.

A deep skin rash from an “attack conflict”? It’s the protective corium skin thickening like armour against the perceived attack, controlled by the brain’s specific sensory relay.

An autoimmune flare? Not self-attack, but healing inflammation protecting the reconstruction of connective tissue after a “self-devaluation” shock.

Microbes join as allies, not invaders, dismantling what’s no longer needed, or replenishing lost tissue. The components of our ‘immune system’ simply support the system, and do not fight them. They work as a team for our benefit.

In this view, every symptom tells a story of resilience, and is part of the adaption and evolution that has kept  nature alive. After all, if we were under constant attack, such as by mutating viruses, wouldn’t we be extinct by now?

The Healing Imperative: Resolving the Conflict

True restoration hinges on addressing the root: the unresolved or relapsing DHS (with the exception of some longstanding conflict programs). While the body senses it is under some sort of threat, it will stay in that program, and full healing will be prevented.

In Biological Programs controlled in the ‘old brain’, Conflict-Active Phase persists in cold sympathicotonia -restless nights, weight loss, obsessive thinking – as the organ adapts (such as increasing cells to enhance the function of an organ).

In Biological Programs controlled in the ‘new brain’ that have cell replenishment in the Healing Phase, there can be excessive proliferation of the cells due to a continued healing process.

Both these instances of cell growth are erroneously diagnosed as cancer.

Only upon resolution – through insight, support, or circumstance – does the pendulum swing to healing: fever, swelling, discharge. The resolution marks the turning point, after which microbes facilitate repair.

Conventional medicine often intervenes with suppressants, mistaking the healing for disease progression. Dr Hamer warned this traps patients in limbo, chronicling cases where biopsies or fear-mongering reactivated conflicts.

GNM advocates instead for awareness: mapping the shock, supporting the phases, and trusting nature’s timeline. Patients report spontaneous remissions once the “why” is grasped—transforming fear into empowerment.

Toward a Paradigm of Purpose

Medical science’s failure to see the “why” isn’t malice but short-sightedness – a symptom of our mechanistic worldview. While many who understand the Biological Laws, or at least the harm that can be caused by conventional treatments and professionals, it is easy to see it all as the enemy, even evil. But it is important to understand that it is their training that is the real issue, not the people themselves.

Dr. Hamer’s Five Biological Laws invite us to zoom out, revealing disease as nature’s curriculum in survival. By honouring these processes, we move from fighting against the body to working in harmony with its natural process with love and compassion. Imagine research that integrates emotional mapping with biomarkers, or therapies that prioritize conflict resolution alongside pharmacology (only if required).

The evidence is in our biology: every “illness” is a testament to our adaptability.

As Hamer put it, there are no real diseases, only meaningful programs waiting to complete their cycle. In embracing this truth, we don’t just heal; we evolve. The question isn’t how to fix the body – it’s how to listen to it.
