Originally written Feb 2018, now updated with new information!

From studying and practising kinesiology, and from my own experiences, this is my understanding of the role that emotions play in disease and suffering.

This is often bantered around parrot fashion that emotive are the key to our suffering, but my scientific, logical mind rarely accepts something without first understanding the why’s and wherefores! So when I hear a statement such as this, I neither dismiss or accept it, but invite it in to my reality so it can be processed both consciously (as I learn and study more) and subconsciously. Over time, all the pieces of information will often come together and resonate with my instinctive feelings, and if this happens it becomes a realisation! This realisation is often triggered off by an experience, discussion, new evidence, hearing someone else’s view/analogy of it, or simply just the smallest bit of new information.

It is this very process that caused me to understand the actual meaning and reality of how the emotions are key to all that happens inside our bodies, and while I’ve always held the emotions in a high regard to health, until this happened to me, I avoided my focus upon it to prevent myself simply regurgitating it parrot fashion. After having my realisation, I then had a second breast cancer scare (I was scared at the time!) and received some information that scientifically backed up and explained things further for me.

Before I explain my realisation – I will give a summary of this scientific information so the terminology I use in this article makes more sense to those not familiar with the Biological Laws of Nature.

How a ‘Conflict Shock’ Triggers Physical Conditions

A conflict shock is an intensely stressful, isolating, shocking event for which we are not prepared for (or one we perceive to be as such). Not all traumatic situations result in a conflict shock. Depending on what the conflict is and what has caused it, different areas of our brain are activated depending on the type of conflict that also corresponds to an organ, function or area of the body. This triggers a meaningful biological program which is designed to help our body to cope with the trauma, always working for our survival. These biological programs are commonly known as diseases such as cancer, however they were originally hardwired for our survival, and are therefore not for our demise.

Many years of research was carried out in Germany by Dr RG Hamer which gives a perfect, logical and scientifically-backed explanation as to how this can occur. I found this information so profound and useful in my own journey and understanding others’ journeys.

How Trapped Emotions Affect Us

Pathogens, toxicities and toxic substances which include toxic (negative) thoughts are most often a secondary cause for disease, simply because they prevent our body from healing itself by compromising our natural process. They can in themselves give us unfavorable symptoms, but disease as we know it is caused by a trauma or conflict shock.

Likewise, emotions we hold onto can distort our perception, and our perception of the world determined the type of conflict shocks we experience. I’ll come to that in a moment but first I’ll look at this energetically.

We are of an energetic nature and are essentially at one with the invincible life force (I believe this to be what is referred to as God). Emotions and thoughts are energetic and will effect the body’s energy/vibration (taking it from this pure ease state to dis-ease, in other words, lower its vibration away from life force). This will effect how it works, develops and deals with and accepts foreign substances, whether they be good or bad. This is proven by the placebo and nocebo effects – how our thoughts and beliefs can change our physical reality.

We are obviously hard-wired to generally process natural substances efficiently as they are natural to us and therefore cause us the least energy expenditure/stress in processing them. But if the body is already energetically compromised (has its vibration lowered) by trapped emotions and/or negative thoughts or conflicts, then it cannot cope with further depletion as the vibration dips low enough that a negative response occurs.  If our body was completely at ease, we are able to offset/manage our response as our vibration is higher than the offending substance and it cannot therefore effect our frequency (not enough for us to worry in any case). It’s like having a stress cup and everything that stresses us fills the cup a bit more, whether it be physical stress by eating toxic foods, or emotional stress or everyday chronic stress. If the cup is not very full we have room to cope with additional momentary stresses and biological conflict shocks that may occur in a calmer and more rational way, and this will help us to not have such an intense reaction. But if the cup is already full, we cannot cope with a conflict shock or additional stresses and the reaction is more intense.

How Emotions can change our perception

One of the reasons why only some people have negative responses to substances and why they will never find definitive causes of disease is that our personal reactions are very subjective. So we all perceive situations differently and this will therefore manifest as different shocks and therefore our biological reactions will also then be different. I do believe that if we are pure in thought and do not hold on to negative emotion that our bodies could potentially be fairly invincible as we would be vibrating at one with the life force and lower frequencies just wouldn’t even touch us – we would have, in effect, risen above them. Maybe this is why we rarely hear of spiritual people such as Buddhist monks get cancer, etc. I also believe it is why there is such subversion to cause negative emotions and bring us down emotionally as this depletes our life force and brings us more into this chronically stressed state with a full ‘stress cup’ which makes us more susceptible to their physical and mental poisons.

As far as conflict shocks are concerned. Our perception is ‘fuelled’ by emotions and conditioning of past experiences, and it is our perception that determine what conflict shocks we will experience. This is why people react differently to the same situation. When 9/11 happened, people reacted very differently. When someone gets divorced, it can be seen as the start of a new life, or the loss of a loved one, something we cannot digest, a worry about the next and children, and it all depends on our perception, on how we see it – which is fuelled by our emotions and past experiences! So it makes sense that addressing emotions that may be fueling a conflict shock could help with the healing process, and especially in the case of retriggering the conflict in chronic conditions.

Additionally, we can sometimes see patterns or themes that can tell us if we have a particular emotion we are holding in to. An example is that I was experiencing several attack conflicts over the years such as shingles and athletes foot, and I realised that I had been feeling like I was constantly having to protect myself from attack. This stemmed back to numerous raids I had to endure in my natural health business by trading standards and other alphabet agencies. It had also made me feel under psychic attack and I realised it had almost given me a victim mentality of being a product of life rather than a master of it!

Holding on to Emotions

The holding on of emotions can cause problems where we would otherwise be able to cope with the conflict shocks, traumas and stressful situations that inevitably come our way once in a while. A little like a new vacuum cleaner works really well, even picking up larger bits, but one with sticky or corrugated pipes or that have taken up something too big, will hold on to particles (events/emotions) and eventually begin to clog up. Then the larger particles that the new vacuum cleaner can cope with will begin getting trapped too and then the even smaller particles that are no problem for most cleaners will get trapped. That’s a very simplified analogy but may help you to understand better if the stress cup doesn’t resonate!

Letting Go and Neutralising Emotions

There are many different views regarding letting go of emotions and how to deal with them and release them. I am speaking from successful experiences with clients.

Understanding the Biological Laws of Nature (links below), I would not want to dig deep to open cans of worms,  as this can retrigger old conflicts. It is not bringing them up to heal, it is retriggering them! Cans of works have lids on for a reason and it is a survival mechanism that often we do not remember some trauma. It is a misconception, and a dangerous one, that we have to release everything, remember everything and keep digging until we are empty! Of course therapists who work in this way will uncover things, which will cause more problems which means more work for them. I’m not saying they have I’ll intentions, this is down to their training and they think they are doing good. I thought so once too!

One method is letting go. This is simply allowing an emotion to release as it is experienced (that means it’s ready to come out!). It means sitting with it with an inquisitive mind rather than resistance of the uncomfortable feeling. Emotions are energy and are not infinite. In this letting go process, the energy will soon run out as it is no longer being resisted or triggered. This could take minutes, hours even days so may not always be convenient, but it is a great, natural and effective way to release. (A great book on this is Letting Go by Dr David Hawkins)

As a kinesiologist, I find the quickest and most effective way is through an energetic technique of tapping which effectively neutralises the charge of an emotion. This is done through meridian tapping, and various other points linked to our energy system. It works by causing the energetic imbalance and effectively resetting the imbalance while focused on the emotion. I use muscle testing to determine the emotion and its root, and an integration of various kinesiology techniques for this which is very effective. A self help version can be found in EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique (click for my video on this)

Other methods I’ve had success with are using the Bach Flower Remedies or Homeopathy, meditation (Paul Babin (on YouTube), Joe Dispenza, the Silva Method, Abraham Hicks), Sound therapy & healing including Mein Studentmadchen by Dr Hamer, binaural beats meditations and gong baths, Reiki – along with self-love, forgiveness and acceptance! I also use positive (and carefully written)  affirmations including having subliminal messages of positive affirmations on my phone.

I’m not taking away from the value of eating healthfully and naturally to facilitate our well-being. Our ability to be invincible in our modern world with all the compromises around such as stress, pollution and unnatural foods is a little unrealistic so we have to give ourselves the best chance we can!
